One of the most affordable and top-rated LPVOs in the business has been reborn with new features and capabilities. The Optics Planet Atibal XP8 OPMOD Edition is the newest iteration of the popular Atibal low-power variable optic specifically geared towards three gun shooters. The new FDE Cerakoted XP8 promises to be very durable and highly versatile across all types of shooting situations you can come across.

The OPMOD Edition of the Atibal XP8 features a 24mm objective lens, 8x magnification, a DTR BDC reticle, a 30mm tube, and a second focal plane reticle. While I personally don’t like second focal plane reticles, many shooters still use them to great effect and don’t see the need for FFP. Adding to the durability of the OPMOD Atibal XP8 is the 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum construction and its Cerakote FDE finish.

Core to the new OPMOD Atibal XP8 is the Diamond Tactical Reticle which is quite unique when compared to the standard circle dots or horseshoe dots that other LPVOs sport. The Diamond Tactical Reticle (DTR) features holdovers for out to 1,000 yards and is optimized for use with 5.56mm 62-grain ammunition. The diamond-shaped reticle is ideal for close-range scenarios while much longer engagements can be made reliably with the optics 0.5-MOA center red dot.

The new Optics Planet OPMOD Atibal XP8 1-8x24mm LPVO is available through Optics Planet and is currently on sale for $299.99 (normal pricing has the optic listed at $420.00). This represents a 29% discount and at the time of writing, the optic is listed as “in-stock.” If you’re looking for an inexpensive LPVO for your next three-gun match or are looking to get started in three gun and are not sure if an LPVO is right for you – this seems like it might be a good option.
