On behalf of the Executive Team and over 500 U.S.-based employees, we extend our deepest sympathies to Alan’s family during this difficult time,” said Doug Bell, Mossberg’s President and COO. “A great leader, visionary, and champion of bringing high quality, innovative firearms to the masses, Alan was a tireless advocate for gun rights and gun safety while always working to ensure that the American traditions of hunting and shooting sports live on for many years to come. More importantly, Alan was a devoted husband, father, and friend—He will be greatly missed
Alan Mossberg like his grandfather is of Swedish descent. This is why the Mossberg logo includes a partial recreation of the Swedish flag. Alan began working for his grandfather’s company at a young age and racked up nearly 50-years worth of time at the company pushing the company to grow and expand to become the pillar within the firearms community that it is. Alan was an avid conservationist, sport shooter and worked together with other industry titans like Ducks Unlimited, the NSSF, NWTF, and Sporting Arms and Ammunition Institute. Alan Mossberg also earned himself a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017 from the NSSF for his service to the firearms industry. Alan is survived by his children, Iver, Jonathan, Gretchen, and Linnea with his son Iver currently sitting as the O.F. Mossberg & Sons Inc Chief Executive Officer.
